The Slab: Plast Craft Games Old West Building 01 Finished

Here's the finished building -

It came out better than expected so I'm happy with it, well, except for the lettering on the sign. I never seem to line stuff up evenly. I guess I could freehand a star next to the lettering...

One down, four more buildings to go...

UPDATE:

I went and painted the star on the sign, here it is -

Now, I need to start on those cowboy miniatures...

The Slab: Plast Craft Games Old West Building 01 WIP #3

Got a little more work done on the building. I finished the second basecoat and painted the trim Apple Barrel Melted Chocolate Brown. I ran into a little bit of a problem painting the window frame. I'm terrible at painting straight lines, but I thought I could do the window anyway. Well, suffice it to say, it wasn't pretty. I decided that maybe I should mask the door frame to paint it, and then go back and touch up the window. A little better looking. Once everything was dry, I gave the building a wash of Secret Weapon's Armour Wash. At first, I thought it might be a bit too dark, but went ahead and finished the wash. It's okay but I will probably go back and lighten everything by drybrushing the building with a sandy color. I still need to add a few more details, along with the drybrushing. Photos of that in the next update.

The Slab: Plast Craft Games Old West Building 01 WIP #2

Just finished the first basecoat. I'm using thin coats of Apple Barrel Acrylic craft paints, Territorial Beige in this case, to paint these structures. I will do a second basecoat once the first is fully dried, then I will paint the corner boards and sign frame with a darker color, either Nutmeg Brown or Melted Chocolate Brown. Once those details are picked out, I'll give it a good wash with Secret Weapon Armor Wash, which is a mix of brown and black pigments. More photos soon.

The Slab: Plast Craft Games Old West Building 01 WIP #1

Last night I put together one of the Plast Craft Games Old West buildings I got from Miniature Market. These buildings are made out of a sheet of foamed PVC, and I wasn't sure if it was going to go together very well when I first started on it, but was pleasantly surprised at how easy it went together, and it's a lot sturdier than I imagined it would be. Overall, I'm rather pleased with the kit, and will definitely be buying more. Here are a few photos of the assembled building-

Not bad looking for $4.33 a kit. I just finished priming it and will begin basecoating once it dries. More photos soon.

Dead-drop: BONES for High Moon

Today I received my first batch of minis for High Moon. I ordered a bunch of Reaper BONES from Miniature Market, as well as some Plast Craft Games Old West terrain.

The BONES are a mix of Savage Worlds BONES, Chronoscope BONES, and Dark Heaven BONES-

The whole passel of minis

Plast Craft Models make 6 different Old West buildings, but Miniature Market only had 5 of the 6-

The buildings are supposed to be easy to build, so I should finish them quickly.

I'm going to start painting the character minis tonight so I can play High Moon later this week.

Gory, Gory, Hallelujah! It's here!

Hot damn! The printed copy of High Moon I ordered yesterday, arrived today! Time to start plottin' my nefarious schemes before the minis arrive. Also time to purchase some western terrain from Finger & Toe Models, so I can get to gamin' quickly. I picked up some cardstock and ink cartridges on the way out of work tonight, and I'm ready to start  a printin' once I get those files.

Blaze of Gory -

I just ordered a print copy of THW's High Moon: Dead Reckoning to begin my foray into Weird Wild West gaming. As with all THW titles, when you order the print copy, you get the PDF free. Just skimming through it and it looks pretty cool...you can play as a Human, a Vampire, a Werewolf, a Witch, or a Zombie - hmmm...a Zombie Gunslinger...that has possibilities....

Some mood music...

Next it's off to get some suitable minis for this "Blaze of Gory"...

Nearly finished taking a break...

I'm hoping to turn my attention back to zombie gaming, actually the horror gaming genre as a whole. I am in the process of adding new stuff to my rules library and cache of miniatures. I want to do something that reflects back on this blog's namesake, a little movie that starred Gene Hackman, Sharon Stone, and Russel Crowe. Look for posts in the near future to reveal the new additions...
